Proper Course privacy policy
Plain language version
None of the information we gather is used for marketing or sold/shared with third parties. We only use your data to provide and improve the service.
To do its job, Proper Course uses your device’s GPS location in two ways:
To record the location of the flags and dropped marks. This location information is transmitted to our server only when you tap a button to record that location. The location is associated with the race course you manage but not your identity specifically — though we know which users can access which courses.
To help you navigate to the desired location of a mark. This real-time location information never leaves your device.
Proper Course only has access to your location while you are using the app.
To share your courses with other users, you must create an account with Proper Course with a username of your choice, which identifies you to other users but does not need to be your real name. You can change your username or delete your account at any time.
In the current TestFlight pre-release version of Proper Course, the location of all flags and dropped marks is visible to all users of the app. This will change before the app is released for sale so that users can only access their own courses and those they’ve been invited to.
